Next on the finger puppets series - Mr. Fox! I prepared a little stop-motion clip for him, inspired by these adorable clips by Eva of Misako Mimoko, the coolest craft-maker and blogger ever(!), whose work has always been an endless source of inspiration.j

These are the first members of my new finger-puppets series. They will be on sale, along with a few more friends, and also along with some copies of "Clips", a beautiful artist-book by my talented friend Galia Pasternak, at "Minshar" craft-fair, on May 30th. g

Ebony and Ivory

I ran into this picture of an albino porcupine, and had to make one myself. Now the family is complete (though there's still work to be done on the pattern, I haven't figured that out yet).l

Perfection

While still struggling with the porcupine pattern, I want to share with you these mother and baby deer I got from Japan (I actually got them at hibino, Tel Aviv). I was speechless when I first laid my eyes on them, so simple and perfect. I inquired and found out they had been handwoven by a family in the ancient city of Nara, which is famous for the deer that roam its park. I wish I could give a more specific credit, but this is all I could find out. If I'd known the name and address of this family I think I would fly all the way to the ancient city of Nara, knock on their door and bow deeply. j

Black Porcupine

After my first two were lucky enough to find a new home, I knitted another porcupine, still not perfect, but getting there. The pattern is coming up, and I promise to post about other things besides more imperfect porcupines. j
