New Friend

I Never thought of making a puppy before. Somehow it seemed too cute, too obvious, until I was asked to make one for a customized Christmas ornament. When he was complete I looked in his eyes and knew he had to be adopted by the Lazy Animals family! He is available now at my shop. Wouldn't you adopt one?

Poppytalk Handmade Craft Market

With high fever and under fire (!), I managed to upload Lazy Animals' table to Poppytalk Handmade craft market, which I am taking part in this month. Now that the cease fire has begun and things are beginning to get back to crazy normal (as opposed to crazy crazy), I finally have a chance to browse through my colleagues' wonderful handmade creations and vintage goods and share some of my finds with you. Here's just a taste:

Cute and clever Ordinary Mommy Design (above)

Smooth and colorful Wind and Willow (above)

Simple and precious Ouistitine* (above)

and my personal favorite: Kickcan and Conckers

Frankie Magazine!

Frankie Magazine's 50th issue is out! It is so beautiful, full of very pleasant surprises, and I am proud to be one of many wonderful contributors! It's a small contribution but it is my first feature in print! I couldn't wait for the printed edition so I bought the digital version, and took some screen shots for you!  Besides my shadow boxes, the cover is especially clever and eye catching, and there's an interview with Belgian weaver Hermine van Dijck which I look forward to reading.

An Eye for Annai

This animation video was made by wonderful Jon Klassen (whom I blogged about here before), back when he was an art student. His latest book has just been released. Found via Design Mom.

Akatsuka masami of Cocon

She is Japanese. She lives in southern France. She is a mother of two. She makes all these beautiful things, and more, by herself, and also takes the photos by herself. My new role model - Akatsuka masami of Cocon. Here's an interview if you want to know more about her.

purple!

There has been some complaints about the lack of more "girly" colors in Lazy Animals' outfits. I couldn't find any pink yarn that I could live with (I'm still looking though), but here are some fluffy shiny lilac shades to all of you girly girls (and boys!).

Dancing Seeds Mobiles by Noa Sadeh

These delicate mobiles are made by Noa Sadeh, who has opened a new Etsy shop. They are so imaginative and full of details, I can look at them for hours.

Don't you want to live in one of those rugs or pillows or handkerchiefs or whatever by Nathalie Lete?
